The Greater Pittsburgh Ten Pin Bowling Association is proud to announce the continued implementation of the RUDOLPH BORDOGNA MEMORIAL BOWLING SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who intend to pursue their post high school education in academic, vocational, technical or business areas which would provide them with marketable skills in their future endeavors.

Two awards of at least $500 each will be made to two candidates, one male and one female.

To be eligible for scholarship consideration, you must meet the guidelines, and complete the requirements, as follows:

1. Have participated in an organized USBC bowling program for a minimum of two years.

2. Be a high school senior from an accredited secondary school, with a minimum of 2.5 GPA for grades 10, 11 and 12.

3. Write a brief autobiography of your bowling career and accomplishments, as well as personal qualifications.

4. Provide personal references, as noted on the application.

Your candidacy will be evaluated on the degree to which you meet the above criteria, along with the other information that you have submitted on the completed application. Bowling achievement, academics and other school and/or community activity will be evaluated. This is a bowling scholarship, and as such, the most heavily weighted factors are bowling achievements and accomplishments.

The deadline for all entries is May 31, 2008. Any entry postmarked after this date will not be accepted. Scholarship winners will be notified in late June.

The finalists in each division (Boys and Girls) will be notified on or about June 15^th.

The award checks will be paid our directly to the school on behalf of the winner. Under no circumstances will the award checks be given directly to the winner.

The Board of Directors of the Greater Pittsburgh Ten Pin Bowling Association (GPTPBA) requires a minimum of four applications be submitted in either division (Boys or Girls) for the scholarship to be awarded in that respective group.
